Que. Read the passage given below carefully. Thereafter questions are given, each with probable four answers (A),( B),( C) and (D) . Choose the correct answer and darken the circle of the letter corresponding to that answer.

Colour consultant from Toronto expand or clever scheme that a company had thought up increasing the sale of potato peelers. He began by pointing out a puzzling fact. Although potato peellars never ‘wear out’, enough are sold into two years in his country to put one in every home. What happens to them? He gave this answer. ‘Investigations reveal that they get thrown away with the potato peelings. One of his colleagues came up with a dazzling plan for helping along this throwaway process. He proposed that they are company paint their peelers ‘ as much like peeling as possible.’

However, a Potato coloured peeler wouldn’t have much eye- appeal on the sales counter. They decided to solve that displaying the peeler on a colourful card. Once the housewife got the peeler home and removed the bright card, the chances that see would lose the peeler wear excellent.

The sale of potato peelers can be increase if –

  1. They can make peelers that will wear out quickly 
  2. Peelers are designed so that they get lost easily .
  3. Peelers are made in dull colours that people will want throw away .
  4. Colourful cards are given away with colourful peelers

People can be persuaded to buy dull coloured peelers

  2. If they are package in bright material
  3. If the peelers  look like potato peelings.
  4. If the housewife is given a free gift .

The passage shows that manufacturers –

  1. Deliberately encourage waste in order to make the consumers spend more .
  2. Try to attract customers by making colours peelers.
  3. Want to put a peeler in every home in the country.
  4. Are keen to increase the sales of bright cards.

Why do people repeatedly buy potato peelers?

  1. Because the old ones wear out 
  2. Because the old ones lose their color and paint .
  3. Because the old ones get thrown away with potato peelings.
  4. In order to increase the sale of potato peelers.
